The next night, Michael takes to Josh to a well-known bar in Beijing, called the Alpha Omega Club. Michael introduces Josh to some popular house drinks, as well as to a few of his girlfriends. While Josh enjoys his drinks, he detects an unexpected presence. For such a large city, Beijing seems to be a surprisingly small place.
Dialogue
Josh:
Josh:
Michael:
Josh:
Michael:
Josh:
Michael:
Michael:
Josh:
Translation
Michael: I know you’re going to be really busy the next few days. You have to study lessons, read books, and all for three different grades. Still, you have to be happy, and definitely enjoy life! Like me–I usually go out on the weekend, and most importantly buy pretty girls drinks. I discovered everyone really likes to drink Grasshoppers. This drink is very special–go ahead and drink some, you’ll definitely like it.
Josh: Not bad! I like it. I assumed it would be grasshopper-flavored.
Michael: Haha, no way! I’ll show you some pictures of some girls. If you get a chance, maybe you can go out with them.
Josh: Hurry, Let me see!
Michael: I’ll remind you, need to work hard, and play hard! The result isn’t important!
Josh: I understand what you mean. Wow, he girls in those pictures are hot!
Michael: Which is your type? (lit. “Which is your dish?”)
Josh: Um, the third one.
Michael: That one hasn’t graduated [college] yet.
Josh: Seems like I still like Xiaoru though.
Michael: Look over there!
Josh: It’s Xiaoru! She’s leaving, I’ll go see her. Xiaoru, are you leaving? Where do you live? I’ll walk with you.
Xiaoru: Hi, Josh. No need, I’m with my friend. Leaving now.
Michael: She lives in the same neighborhood as us, didn’t you know?
Josh: That’s why I see her often around here.
Michael: Don’t be unhappy. Let’s go! I’ll take you to sing karaoke, along with other friends.
